Silicone Release Liners

The latest technology in coating and converting to meet your demand

Customized Release Liners For Your Products...

Silicone release liners make a big impact in a lot of little ways throughout our daily lives. From the bandage paper we peel away after a nasty paper cut to the backing of every postage stamp we place, silicone release paper keeps a wide variety of adhesives fresh and tacky. While normal paper bonds to adhesives, release paper is designed specifically to be easy to pull away, without the risk of it falling off.

Utilizing the natural properties of silicone, this release paper sticks to the adhesives without fusing. Just a little pressure is enough to pull away the coated paper from its adhesive, and the adhesive remains tacky and fresh for its intended application. Silicone release paper is also naturally water-resistant and anti-microbial.

As a global supplier of release liners for all adhesive, rubber, electronic, circuit, and sealant-related products, we utilize the latest technology in coating and converting to meet your demand. At Griff, we can customize to your specifications. If you need silicone release liners in rolls, sheets or die-cut, we can do that in our facilities.

Griff’s Release Liners are designed to not only release the stress of adhesive paper or tape but to release our clients’ stress of monitoring quality control. Following hours of research and development along with industry-standard testing, we have reached a result that can be customized for thousands of different applications. All of the release coatings are formulated without solvents and polymerized using Green Technology. These products are manufactured in a climate-controlled facility that is ISO 9001:2015 certified to maintain the highest level of quality.

APPLICATIONS

Application Tape

Application tape allows a printed or die-cut object to be placed onto another surface without compromising the quality or shape of the object.

Benefits:

    • Simple release
    • Multiple applications
    • Easy die-cutting

A design that is printed onto a colored piece of vinyl by a printer can be transferred onto another surface with pressure or moisture. Items like a die-cut sticker that you see on the back of a car window or on a store front door are an example of this. Application tape is the peel-off release that is applied to the vinyl to be released after being attached to the surface.

Application tape can be applied to countless die-cuts, sizes, and colors. Application tape is easy to erase, greaseless, and leaves behind minimal residue.

SUBSTRATES

Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Film (BOPP)

BOPP Film is a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP). “Biaxially oriented” reveals that the polypropylene film has been stretched in both the machine direction (MD) and across machine direction (AMD). Superior strength at low gauges (allows for high speed processing), flatness, clarity and printability, are just a few of the reasons BOPP film has become the most rapidly implemented film product around the world.

This material has good clarity, resistance to UV light, excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, and a smooth surface. The clear material has a reasonable scuff resistance and a great acid resistance.

Our material is also inert to most mild chemicals and has a fair heat resistance allowing for heat sealable BOPP films. This material is softer and more flexible than polyester.

We have the BOPP film for you, no matter your application. There are over 1,000 variants of BOPP films.

Low Density Polyethylene Film (LDPE)

Soft, tough and flexible, low density polyethylene film is favored for its resilience against a majority of chemicals and organic solvents. When LDPE film is incorporated into a packaging laminate, it offers excellent seal strength to package the most demanding products. Its low conductivity makes it useful in low temperature electrical applications, while its durability and excellent process-ability make it the all-purpose film to turn towards.

Benefits:

    • Superior flexibility
    • Excellent process-ability
    • Optimum tear strength

LDPE film is polymerized using a free radical that produces a large amount of short and long chains, limiting its ability to form high levels of crystallization. The low level of crystallinity attributes to the flexibility, clarity and elongation. The simple repeating polymer unit is very inert, leaving the film resistant to many chemicals. While LDPE is very popular as the main resin for shrink film and sealing layers in packaging laminates, we customize our film to suit many purposes and can adjust everything including color, thickness, size, printability, release and finish.

Polyethylene Terephthalate Film (PET)

Our PET (polyester) film has high temperature and excellent barrier properties. It is used as a substrate for laminating and extrusion coating. PET film is used in flexible packaging products. PET exhibits outstanding dimensional and thermal stability and excellent tensile strength. However, these same properties also contribute to poor stress-flex resistance and the potential to pinhole.

Polyethylene terephthalate, PET, is rarely used unsupported in the paper and film industry and is normally laminated to a polyolefin sealant web for heat seal-ability and improved stress-flex, pinhole, and dart-tear resistance.

Some of our film coatings include:

    • Silicone
    • Adhesive
    • Premask
    • Corona
