Position Summary

The Griff Network is seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the installation, startup, preventive maintenance, upkeep, and ongoing reliability of a new large-scale silicone coating line used to manufacture silicone-coated release liner materials.

Preventive maintenance experience is a critical requirement for this position. The technician will assist with scheduled preventive maintenance activities, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments, and documentation to help minimize downtime and maintain safe, consistent production.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working with production machinery, mechanical components, pumps, motors, bearings, rollers, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and related equipment. Experience supporting coating, laminating, printing, converting, web-handling, or roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.

This is an opportunity to join a new division during its early stages and play an important role in establishing equipment maintenance standards, preventive maintenance schedules, and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks on the silicone coating machine and supporting production equipment, including inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, tightening, and routine replacement of worn components.
  • Use the company’s preventive maintenance software or computerized maintenance management system to review assigned work orders, document completed tasks, record equipment conditions, and identify follow-up maintenance needs.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and senior maintenance personnel with maintaining preventive maintenance schedules, inspection checklists, service intervals, equipment histories, and maintenance records.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify wear, leaks, vibration, misalignment, unusual noise, temperature concerns, loose components, or other conditions that could affect machine safety, reliability, or performance.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with repairs involving motors, pumps, bearings, rollers, shafts, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic systems, sensors, switches, and other mechanical or basic electrical components.
  • Respond to equipment issues and production interruptions, helping identify the cause of the problem and completing repairs or adjustments within the technician’s level of training and experience.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, testing, startup, and ongoing upkeep of the silicone coating machine and related production systems.
  • Work closely with machine operators, production leadership, maintenance personnel, equipment manufacturers, and outside service technicians to address equipment concerns and reduce downtime.
  • Assist with machine cleaning, setup, changeovers, shutdowns, and production adjustments when technical or maintenance support is required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, chemical safety, and required Personal Protective Equipment, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electromechanical technology, or a
    related field preferred.
  • At least 2–3 years of industrial maintenance, machine technician, equipment repair, or related hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience performing or assisting with preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and routine component
    replacement, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using preventive maintenance software or a computerized maintenance management system to receive work orders, document completed maintenance, update
equipment records, and track follow-up repairs is strongly preferred. Experience with eMaint is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment concerns, assist with
troubleshooting, and complete routine repairs and maintenance assignments.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment components such as motors, pumps, bearings, rollers, shafts, gearboxes, conveyors, mechanical drives, pneumatic systems, or hydraulic systems preferred.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience involving sensors, switches, relays, wiring, motors,
    or control panels is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is required, with experience in coating, laminating, printing, converting, paper, film, foil, adhesive, chemical, or roll-to-roll operations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment manuals, checklists, mechanical drawings, and established maintenance procedures.
